DHS Hurricane Long 3 (HL3)

The DHS Hurricane Long 3 (HL3) is a seven-ply all-wood table tennis blade known for its balanced combination of speed, power and control.

It was made famous by world champion Ma Long in 2013.

The blade features a large sweet spot, making it suitable for consistent and powerful loops and maintaining control during the short game.

Construction: The HL3 is a seven-ply all-wood blade. The construction consists of outer limba layers, inner layers are ayous and dyed ayous. It is thinner and more flexible than some other seven-ply blades, which gives it a distinctive feel.

Playing Style: Best suited for all-round attackers and players who play with consistent topspin and fast attacks from various distances. It offers sufficient speed, but at the same time maintains control.

Compared to the DHS Power G7: The HL3 is often considered a higher quality and more expensive version of the DHS PG7 all-wood blade. The stickiness of Chinese rubbers makes them suitable for HL3, as the blade provides the necessary power.

For Forehand (FH) - DHS Neo Hurricane 3: Ma Long famously combined HL3 with the improved blue sponge of DHS Hurricane 3. The sticky surface of the rubber is a classic complement to the offensive and topspin capabilities of HL3.
