Unlike the standard Long 5, which features carbon layers placed directly next to the core (so-called Inner-carbon), the 5A model utilizes an Outer-carbon construction.

• Composition: 5 wood plies + 2 layers of A-Fiber (Arylate-carbon).
• Outer ply: Koto (a harder wood that provides a crisper feel, whereas the classic Long 5 uses softer Limba).
• Thickness: Approximately 6.0 mm.
